Michal Horváth

Michal Horváth is post-doctoral research fellow at Nuffield College, University of Oxford, research affiliate of the Centre for Dynamic Macroeconomic Analysis at the University of St Andrews and adviser to the Slovak Finance Minister. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of St Andrews, United Kingdom (2008), a MSc in public economics from the University of York, United Kingdom (2003) and a M.A. in financial management from the Comenius University, Slovakia (2002). Michal's research interests include optimal monetary and fiscal policy, heterogeneity in macroeconomics and tax reform. Upon landing his current post, Michal has worked as research assistant and consultant at the Slovak branch of ING Bank (2000-2002) and as adviser and director of the policy research unit at the Slovak Labour, Social Affairs and Family Ministry (2003-2004). He has published in leading academic journals, including the B.E. Journal of Macroeconomics. Michal is also standing member of the Research Committee of the National Bank of Slovakia.
